Why Shining Armor

The difference is knowing what belongs.

In older and historic homes, finish carpentry is not just about installing trim. It is about proportion, transition, alignment, and understanding how new work should meet what is already there. Shining Armor takes a more informed approach — combining pre-construction planning, modern documentation tools, and experienced execution — so the finished work feels considered, cohesive, and appropriate to the home.

The work

A closer look.

Process

Planned properly. Finished properly.

01

Review

The work starts with a close look at the home, the existing conditions, and the character the space already has.

02

Clarify

Modern documentation and design tools help bring clarity to dimensions, transitions, and scope before work begins, making details easier to understand early.

03

Execute

The work is carried through with disciplined finish carpentry and the kind of field experience that helps new work sit naturally within the home rather than compete with it.

Small team. Serious depth.

Built on planning and craft.

Shining Armor is led by Ethan Avgerakis, Founder & Project Director, with 10 years of experience in home improvement, building, and design. Denis Boiteau, Head of Production, brings 30 years of master finish carpentry experience and specializes in restoring and working on historic homes. Together, that blend of planning, experience, and field knowledge helps catch problems early, keep decisions clearer, and move the work to a higher standard.

A trusted network of local trades helps support the work where needed, while the finish standard stays consistent from the first measurement to the final detail.
